ST. CHARLES COUNTY HISTORY

People

As long as a person’s name is said, they are being remembered. In a cemetery, there is a story for every stone, but there’s not a stone for every story. So families gather the stories, the photos, and the treasures of their ancestors that they hold most dear, hoping that future generations will treasure them as much as they do.

Every community has those that they recognize for their achievements, in politics, in civic progress, and for their leadership. But what about those whose stories have been forgotten, or never heard? Those are the stories that should be treasured most. And if a story is difficult, and brings up issues and feelings we find hard to hear, those are the most important of all.
